Tummy Tuesday - Comfort Food
Yet another sick day today so I thought some comfort food would only be fitting. Also, with the cold days numbered (yippeeeeeeeeee!!!!) I thought it would be best to enjoy this yummy soup while you still can. I don't know about you but to me soup and a warm day just does not jive. Best of all the it's Weight Watchers and you can't even tell!
With my boycott of Subway (see recent post) I thought it would be a good idea to find a replacement recipe for their meatball sub. Success! The recipe was delicious but the only change I would have I would have made would be to exchange the dinner rolls for sub bread. Jeff also mentioned having these meatballs with our spaghetti recipe. I knew I married this man for a good reason!

Mommy Monday - Sick Day
Sophie and I are both home sick today. Proceed with caution - makeup free zone!
Even though I am sick - I still have to work from home. Isn't being a grown up so great?! On the plus side I was unusually early to work this morning because I didn't have to stand in my closet for 2 hours while trying to decide what to wear.
Another nice thing about sick days is that you get to stay in your PJ's all day long without any feelings of guilt! It seriously does not get any better then that because the guilt of "being lazy" gets me every time. I think as a mama, sitting down and not doing anything is a really hard feat because there is always something somewhere that needs to be done. When you are sick though, it knocks you on your tooshie and you don't have a choice but to lay on the couch.
Now come close because I want to share something with you. Maybe its the medicine talking but....I really love the Dollar Tree. Now, I am not a big a fan of the lack of cleaniness and the lack of organization puts my OCD on full alert. And even though it is like a smaller more enclosed version of Wal-Mart, which can be scary at times, they do have some neat little things. In light of the Easter Bunny visiting soon, I thought it would be nice to share my secret. Don't get me wrong, I am not going to be purchasing my Christmas gifts there anytime soon but items like gift bags, bows, tags, drawer liner, ribbon, and trinkets for a certain 3 year olds Easter basket are perfect! Trust me!
Time for our next round of medicine!

Fabulous Friday - Tanks & Tutus
TGIF!
Nothing like a little sunshine to get you excited for the weekend and warm weather!!
Speaking of sunshine - how super fab is this shirt?!
I love that fact that its flowy and not so tight and fitted. Allows the shirt to still look cute and stylish rather than sloppy!!
How super fabulous and cute is this sweet baby girl?! I just had to share!
As much as I would love to claim the outfit idea myself, I can't. Luckily I have a facebook friend who was gracious enough to share the idea and details. Sophie wore it for her Dr. Seuss day at school. Don't you just love it though? What little girl (or big girl for that matter) does not love a tutu? As our Gigi says, you can never had too many tutu's!
P.S. - They have a ton of super precious tutus at TJ Maxx right now for only $10!! Maybe Mommy will get one after all. Daddy may like it! ;)

Random Thursday - Heaven is For Real
Did you catch the History Channels Sunday evening debut of "The Bible" miniseries? It was beyond words! It really amazed me to see how these stories that I know so well, came to life on the television. It made me realize that sometimes I forget how they were living and breathing human beings just as we are today! I have known these stories my entire life and yet watching them in motion touched me and moved me! And as much as I love (even though I shouldn't) my junk tv, it sure was nice for a change to watch something that does not involve horrible language and alot of inappropriate sex related scenes.
If you missed it this past Sunday, no need to fear! I am sure they will show it again between now and Sunday and with the help of one of the greatest inventions ever - the DVR, you should be all set. Click here to find out your viewing times.
Have you ever read "Heaven is For Real"? This book is again, beyond words. I read it about a year ago and it really touched me!! His story and descriptions made things come alive. The way that he describes heaven and Jesus - wow! The love that our Lord has for us and the glory we will receive in heaven is something that we cannot even begin to imagine!
I am proud to say that I have always had a strong relationship with God. Of course there have been times in my life when I have strayed from the path but never too far. However, in the past six months or so, I have felt as though my relationship has gone to a whole new level. The increasing thirst and hunger for his word and worship and wanting to share his love with others is exciting. At the same time, I have also been in transition with my career. Don't be confused, I have no regrets and more importantly no doubt that I am exactly where God intended me to be. However, there is a big question mark looming with the direction and future of my career. Due to that question mark, obviously alot of fear as well. And for someone who tends to be a bit of control freak (to put it mildly), this is a really tough and scary pill to swallow.
While watching "The Bible" series Sunday evening, I felt so silly for my worries. God parted the Red Sea for Moses and his people....HE PARTED THE SEA!
Are you kidding me? He raised his son from the dead! But yet, I worry about not knowing the direction or path for my career? Given his resume, I think taking care of me and my career is small potatoes! He's got this so why do I even waste my time with worry? I guess the only answer is that I'm human. Every day I battle myself to not become consumed with the worry and fear. I feel as though I am in a time of transition and God has some exciting and possibly unexpected things in store for me! To be continued...

Tummy Tuesday - Don't Judge
There is nothing I love more after a long day at work then a warm homecooked dinner. However, with two working parents, the only way to make it happen in our house is by using recipes that are fairly quick and easy.
Baked Ravoli is a regular on our dinner rotation and one of our favorites! This meal could not be any easier and is super yummy. We always have leftovers which is also a big plus!

Tim Tebow's mom shared one of her families favorite meals when visiting Good Morning America last year. She said that her Pizza Pie is a signature in her house and I can certainly understand why! Pure yumminess!
In honor of Girl Scout cookie season - Thin Mint Cookie Truffles. They are heavenly and really easy to make. Sophie loved helping and I was extremely impressed with her finger licking ability!
The only downfall is that Jeff was unable to find Green Mint Chips so we used basic chocolate chips instead. The truffles were still amazing and my assistant chef insisted on topping them off with some sprinkles.
Don't judge! We had to eat one to make sure they were safe for everyone else!

Mommy Monday - MNM's
As much as I love M&M candies (especially in a tub of buttery popcorn at the movie theatre), I am actually referencing a different type of MNM's - Mommies Need Mommies. The longer I am a mommy, the more I realize the importance of having your mommy network. Women who love you, encourage you, and can relate to your life. Sometimes all you need is to hear from others that you are not alone and/or crazy and that there are other mommies out there with the same obstacles as you!
Through my new world of blogging I have come across some amazing and Godly women who share their lives as mommies and wives. It was through one of these blogs that I recently discovered the .MOM Conference. The annual Lifeway conference is described as "a weekend that will encourage and refresh you, connect you with other moms, celebrate motherhood, and draw you closer to Christ. dotMOM is for moms of all ages with kids of all ages."

Are you kidding me? Sign me up and when do we leave?! What a genius concept and awesome opporotunity for moms to come together in fellowship while sharing stories and laughter! Apparently they have the conference in many different locations so be sure to find the one closest to you. As for my girlfriends reading this right now - mark your calendar for our girls weekend. Best part of all is that we get to stay local!
While reading all about the dotmom conference, I stumbled upon http://thebigmamablog.com/. I loved reading her blog and even discovered that this multitasking mama has recently written a book!! I figured that with a title such as "Sparkly Green Earrings" the book and author were def someone I would love! Its a fun read about the good, the bad, the ugly, and most of all the tremendous blessing of mommyhood. It has received nothing but rave reviews and I seriously cannot wait to get to the bookstore this week to snatch it up!
All of this mommy girl power has me fired up!! Maybe I should start the MNM network. Our first meeting will be held at the movie theatre over some buttery popcorn!

Fabulous Friday - Bangles and Bubbles
Do you ever have times where you cannot remember if you actually shared your thought or just thought about sharing it? With that in mind, sorry if I have already shared this declaration of love but - I simply ADORE all the bright colors for this spring/summer. They make me so very happy which is much appreciated because about this time every year I am so over the dreary cold weather and all the clothes that go along with it!
This spring/summer will be the first one in three years where I am finally back at my prepregnancy weight -YAY! Better late then never though right?! With that being said, I am really excited to embrace some creativity with my wardrobe but its sometimes hard for me to do. Often, I know what I love but cannot quite figure out how to pull it all together. It becomes so complicated and stressful I end up just sticking with what I know which is cute but def the same ole. Now with the assistance of Pinterest my creativity awakens or maybe I should say broadens, with the help of visual aides!
First up - Bangles!!! Love the look of the layered bangles. They can give a casual summer outfit that extra bit of pop. I recently discovered that you can find them for super cheap at Forever 21!

Not a great picture but you get the idea.
The basic white tee with colored shorts and a bubble necklace is classic. One of my favorite examples of it is from the blog and accompanying picture below!
Since I already have the necklace and top, the shorts are all I would need to hunt down. Old Navy has some really cute colored shorts this season and of course at a reasonable price.
We are heading to Disney World for Sophie's fourth bday at the end of April and of course I will be purchasing some new extra special Princess Dresses for her first Disney experience. You can imagine my excitement this morning when I opened my email and saw - Fairy tale fashion 25% off and free shipping! Now I just have to find a place to hide the dresses for the next two months bc I swear my child is like a hound dog and can sniff a princess dress anywhere within the vicinity!
Happy Shopping and TGIF!!!
